Paul Tyler, Baron Tyler

Paul Archer Tyler, Baron Tyler, of Linkin Horne in the County of Cornwall CBE DL (* October 29, 1941 ) is a British politician of the Liberal Party and now the Liberal Democrats, both several years a Member of the House of Commons was as well since 2005 member of the House of Lords.

Life

Local politician and Member of the House

Mid-1960s, Tyler began his political career in local politics and was 1964-1970 Member of the Council of the County of Devon, and was during this period from 1965 to 1970 at the same time a member of the police administration for Devon, Cornwall and at the same time Vice - Chairman of the Committee for the Dartmoor National Park.

In the general election on March 31, 1966 Tyler ran first time without success for a seat in the House of Commons, and indeed for the Liberal Party in the constituency of Totnes. Tyler opted not to run again in the general election on 5 May 2005 and was then brought by a patent as Letters Life peer with the title Baron Tyler, of Linkin Horne in the County of Cornwall in the peerage. On 15 June 2005 his Introduction ( Introduction) followed as a member of the House of Lords.

During his membership in the House of Lords Lord Tyler was previously between 2006 and May 2010, the Group's spokesperson of the Liberal Democrats for Constitutional Affairs. He was also from 2008 to 2009 spokesman of his group for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
