People is an EP by Animal Collective, which was released in October 2006. First, in 2006, the EP was released on Skunk Records, the Australian label the band as 7. " In January 2007, the EP was released on vinyl and CD worldwide via FatCat Records.
Content
The first three songs on the EP were recorded during the recording sessions for Animal Collective album Feels (2005 ), while the live version of " People" was taken on a tour in March 2005, just before the recording sessions.
Reception
The Rolling Stone rated the EP merely 2.5 of 5 points. The online music magazine Pitchfork Media awarded 7.1 / 10 points. The critic Mark Richardson was there though that the sound of the plate very much bulkier and experimental as was their album Feels, but:
" It sounds still damn good, while the band manages to take me to a special place. Animal Collective like " People" like enough to make even a live version at the end of this four -song EP [ ... ]. The recording date testified that they play it live for two years and have now hatched long enough to bring it to the plate. [ ...] It is another example of something that Animal Collective fans will most likely find very interesting, while the majority of humanity awaits the Skip button. "
