Content

The EP was described according to Domino Records by the band as follows:

"All four tracks are simpler than their recent work on Strawberry Jam. The opener, "Water Curses ", mixes and Calypso Carousel and throws up unexpected rhythms, down and sideways to create the sound of a smile. And " Street Flash" is nearly seven minutes of further deep sinks, full electronics and lullabies, which sound as if they were made of honey. " Cobwebs " is just as sluggish. Oneself to a defiant vocal mantra, " I'm not going underground", and rockets full gospel organ sounds weaving, it sounds as if it would come up with a new kind of space church for Al Green to discharge weddings until the church away slowly dwindling in a sticky ether. The final track of the EP brings a heavenly feeling in even glückseligeren feel stages. "Seal Eyeing " is the moment you realize you're watching contrails merging with the sky and this is the most constructive thing not just what you can do, but also the only option that is left to you. "

The vinyl version is also available with a MP3 and FLAC version of the album.

The album leakte on March 12, 2008 to file sharing websites.

Reception

On Pitchfork Media, the EP received 7.3 out of 10. There, writes Mark Richardson:

Water Curses like a private thing " Although it's just a collection of outtakes, feels " "for a constant mood and an identifiable range. The plate also shows the band, which may more and more the idea of integrating unusual sounds and textures in their music. Where once they used synths, delay pedals and crude electronic percussion into an abstract, noise approach, they are now discovering the way to work with strange sounds and right songs. You can hear how they are experimental and accessible at the same time. While " Water Curses " makes a lot of fun, it brings a yet to dream, whereas Animal Collective will go next. "
