Per Sivle

Per Sivle ( born April 6, 1857 in Flåm, † September 6, 1904 in Kristiania ) was a Norwegian writer.

Life

Sivle was born as the son of the cattle driver Eirik Sivle in the municipality of Aurland in Sogn og Fjordane Fylke. When he was two years old his mother died Susanna Andersdotter Ryum, and his father moved with him to Stalheim in the municipality of Voss in Hordaland. From 1883 to 1891 Sivle worked as a journalist for newspapers Buskeruds Office Tidende and Kristianiaposten. Sivle lived for some time in Denmark, Germany and England.

He was married to Wenche Nilsen from the lip and had a daughter born in 1888, Susanna.

Sivle committed suicide in 1904. He was buried in Drammen. 1909 a memorial stone was erected in Stalheim.
