Pioneers Park

Region

Pioneer Park (also afrik. Pioneer Park ) is a suburb of Windhoek and is located in the southwestern part of the city. Pioneer Park is bordered on the north by Highland Park, on the east by the southern industrial area and to the south by Academia and the University of Namibia.

Pioneer Park has grown rapidly since Namibia's independence in 1990, which led westwards into the otherwise uninhabited Khomashochland also to a partial expansion of the urban area. In addition to trade and industry there is here living quarters of the middle-income strata of all communities.

In Pioneer Park is also the Windhoek Central Cemetery Gammams and the sports fields of the Wanderers Sports Club.
