Windhoek Central Business District

Region

Windhoek Central ( afrik.: Windhoek - Sentraal, English Windhoek Central, but in most cases: Central Business District ( CBD) ) is the downtown district of Windhoek and historical center of the capital of Namibia. Windhoek - Central is the economic, political and cultural center of the city and home to many government and administrative buildings. It is also the seat of the municipality of Windhoek.

In the extreme south of Windhoek - Central is located on the border of the Southern industrial area and Suiderhof the historically important Ausspannplatz. Named outstretched after the beginning of the 1900s, horses and oxen. From him the Independence Avenue, the main shopping and business street of the city, extending north.

With the Wernhil Park ( 39,000 square feet, 1,400 parking places) here is the second largest mall in the country.
