Wanaheda (formed from the tribal name of its first inhabitants: Wa - mbo, Na - ma, He- rero and Da - mara ) is a resultant of the South African policy of apartheid in the 1950s suburb of the Namibian capital Windhoek. The district has 19,300 inhabitants the third highest population number of all neighborhoods in Windhoek.

Today Wanaheda is a socially mixed area, but is inhabited still exclusively by blacks. The former had the same constituency (2003 renamed in honor of former President of Mozambique, Samora Machel ) 29 051 inhabitants within the Capital Region Khomas.
