Pisolithus

Common peas litter Ling ( Pisolithus arhizus )

The peas good Linge ( Pisolithus ) is a fungal genus in the family Hartbovistverwandten ( Sclerodermataceae ), they are, despite their outer shape in the order of the tube mushrooms ( Boletales ).

Features

The peas good pieces form on the surface seated ( epigeal ), irregular club-shaped belly fungal fruiting bodies, which are elongated stalk -like at the base and ending in a crested like Bodenmycel. The peridium is massive, brown and smooth, while the ripening of the fruit body, they become brittle and eventually breaks up irregularly. The Gleba fills only the upper part of the fruit body, which parts of the gleba containing basidia are separated by sterile veins voneineinander and later form pea- shaped bodies, the Pseudoperdidien which decay last powdery.

Way of life

The species of the genus peas good Linge live as Ektomykorrhizapartner in root symbiosis with various deciduous and coniferous trees,

System

The genus was formerly considered as monotypic, now up to 5 species recognized. The designation of each separate species is still unclear, apart from the nature Pisolithus arhizus, the terrible pea litter Ling, which occurs mainly in the northern hemisphere, the forms Pisolithus albus, which lives in symbiosis with species of eucalyptus and Pisolithus marmoratus distinguished, with the occurrence in the Holarctic probably all belong to Pisolithus arhizus.

Dissemination

The species can be found almost worldwide and comes from the tropics to the temperate and boreal regions before.
