The Pontifical Catholic University of Argentina (Spanish: Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina ' Santa María de los Buenos Ayres " ), short- UCA, is a University of pontifical right, with headquarters in Buenos Aires.

In addition to the former located in Puerto Madero Buenos Aires headquarters of the University there in Rosario, Mendoza and Parana other locations.

According to a study by the Spanish Ministry of Education, it is among one of the best private universities in Latin America. In addition, it is the second-best prestigious university, sixth in the whole of Latin America Argentine entrepreneurs.

Your predecessor, the Catholic University of Buenos Aires (1910-1922) was founded by the Argentine Bishops' Conference, but their diplomas were not recognized by the government. In 1922 the university was closed.

A decree in 1955 allowed the establishment of private universities with the right to grant academic degrees. In 1965, the bishops decided, accordingly, to found the Catholic University of Argentina, which officially took place on 7 March 1958.

The University also operates nor the Santo Tomás de Aquino school in Buenos Aires.
