Poonamallee (Tamil: பூந்தமல்லி Pūntamalli [pu ː n̪d̪əmal ː i]) is a city in the suburb area of Chennai (Madras ), the capital of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The population is around 57,000 ( 2011 census ).
