Poonamallee (Taluk)

The Taluk Poonamallee (Tamil: பூந்தமல்லி வட்டம் ) is a taluk ( subdistrict ) of Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Capital is the eponymous city Poonamallee.

Geography

The Taluk Poonamallee is located in the southeast of the district of Tiruvallur in the suburban belt of the metropolis Chennai ( Madras). It is bordered by the Taluk Tiruvallur in the West, Ambattur Taluk to the northeast and the district Kanchipuram in the south.

The Taluk Poonamallee is congruent with the same block. Its area is 178 square kilometers.
