Potter Valley AVA

Potter Valley AVA ( recognized since 13 October 1983) is an American Viticultural Area in the U.S. state of California. The area is located in the administrative area of ​​Mendocino County. The wine-growing area with a protected designation of origin is located in the vicinity of the town of Potter Valley, about 16 km northeast of Ukiah. West of this wine region Redwood Valley AVA joins. The proximity to the cool Eel River wine-growing is the one allowing and the rising of the river fog also favors the formation of noble rot for the production of dessert wines from Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.
