Prescott is a small town ( with the status of City ) in Pierce County in the western part of the U.S. state of Wisconsin at the mouth of the St. Croix River into the Mississippi. In the census in 2010 Prescott had 4258 inhabitants.

Geography

Prescott is located at the mouth of the St. Croix River in the upper Mississippi River, which forms the border with Minnesota. Prescott is located at 44 ° 45'06 " north latitude and 92 ° 47'35 " west longitude and covers an area of 6.2 km ², spread over 5.2 km ² land and 1.0 km ² water surface.

On the opposite bank of the Mississippi is on the land 9 km to the west remote Hastings. Other neighboring towns are Cottage Grove, Minnesota ( 16.2 km north west ), River Falls, Wisconsin ( 21.8 & km northeast), Trimbelle, Wisconsin (19,8 km to the east ) and Diamond Bluff (21,4 km southeast).

Prescott is located on the Wisconsin section of the Great River Road forming Wisconsin Highway 35, which meets in the center of the town on U.S. Highway 10 and Wisconsin Highway 29.
