Prigglitz is a municipality with 475 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Neunkirchen in Lower Austria.

Geography
Prigglitz part of the industrial area in the southeast of Lower Austria. It is 635 meters above sea level north of Gloggnitz on the Schwarzadal. The area of the municipality covers 17.95 square kilometers. 65.63 percent of the area is forested.

History
The name Prigglitz was first mentioned in records in 1264 and is equated with the meaning small bridge; the - itz indicates a Slavic influence. As the first settlers Noric and Celtic miners are suspected.

According to the data of the 2001 census, 86.0 % of the population Roman Catholic, 3.7% are Protestant. 1.8% are Muslim, 2.5% are members of Orthodox Churches. 5.4% of the population has no religious affiliation.
Policy
Mayor of the municipality is Franz Teix, office manager Andreas Weinzettl. In the council there after the municipal elections of 2010 a total of 15 seats following distribution of seats: 10 ÖVP, SPÖ 5, no other seats.
