Princess of Naradhiwas University

The Princess of Naradhiwas University ( Thai มหาวิทยาลัย นราธิวาส ราช นครินทร์, RTGS: Mahawitthayalai Narathiwat Ratchanakkharin; " princess - of - Narathiwat University ", English Princess of Naradhiwas University, in short: PNU) is a university in Narathiwat province in the southern region of Thailand. It is named after Princess Galyani Vadhana who died in 2008 sister of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who bore the title of Princess of Narathiwat.

The university was created by a cabinet decision of 8 July 2003 from four existing educational institutions:

  • Vocational school in Narathiwat
  • The College of Agriculture and Technology Narathiwat
  • Vocational school Tak Bai
  • The Boromarajonani Nursing School

The university is located in the troubled zone south of Thailand, in addition to military personnel and police officers also particularly teachers are the target of attacks by armed separatists. This leads to special security measures in the Princess of Naradhiwas University.
