Province of Ourense

The Spanish province of Ourense is part of the Autonomous Region of Galicia. The province occupies the south-eastern part of Galicia. Capital of the province is the city of Ourense. The population of the province is 336 099 (2008), of which about 30 % live in the provincial capital.

Geography

The province is bordered on the west by the province of Pontevedra, in the north of the province of Lugo, on the east by the Castilian provinces of León and Zamora.
