Puntarenas FC

Puntarenas FC is a Costa Rican football club from Puntarenas, Province of Puntarenas since 2004 playing in the Primera División de Costa Rica.

History

After 2001 AD Municipal Puntarenas and descended into the second division in 2003 AD Municipal Osa and the province of Puntarenas no first division club had taken the businessmen Eduardo Li and Adrián Castro the initiative and founded on 30 June 2004 Puntarenas FC. In addition, they bought the franchise of Erstligateams AD Santa Bárbara. So Puntarenas FC plays since its inception in the Primera División de Costa Rica. Since 2004, Puntarenas FC could well establish themselves in the top division. The successes are winning the Copa Centroamericana, Copa Inter Clubes and the runner-up in 2009.

Stadium

The club plays its games at the Estadio Municipal Miguel " Lito " Pérez, which is also called " Olla Mágica " ( pressure cooker ). The nickname evolved by the high temperatures and the incessant support during home games through their own fan group " La Samba Primeira ".
