The Pure Michigan 400 is the second race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup, which will be held at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan. It was originally introduced than 600 mile race in 1969, but already reduced to 400 miles in 1970. In 1973, the race did not take place, as Roger Penske, the new owner of the track, it exchanged against an IndyCar race.
