Pyotr Stolyarsky

Pyotr Solomonovich Stolyarski (. Russo Пётр Соломонович Столярский, born 18 Novemberjul / November 30 1871greg in Lipowzy, Podolia Governorate, now Ukraine, . † April 29, 1944 in Sverdlovsk ) was a Soviet violinist and music teacher.

Life

Stolyarski studied with Stanisław Barcewicz in Warsaw and at Emil Młynarski in Odessa. 1893 graduated from the violin class Stolyarski the Odessa Music School. From 1893 to 1919 he was a violinist in the orchestra of the Odessa Opera House. From 1898, he worked as a music teacher. In 1912 he opened his own music school. From 1919 he taught at the Odessa Conservatory (from 1923 as a professor ). He was one of the founders of the Soviet violin school. Closely with his name on the method of professional music training at the earliest age is connected. On his initiative, the State Music School was opened in 1933 for gifted children, which now bears his name. In the 30s of the 20th century, his students have won numerous international awards. His students included the later world-famous violinist David Oistrakh and Nathan Milstein and Boris and Michael Goldstein, Mikhail spruce and Elizabeth Gilels.

Stolyarski was a member of the CPSU since 1939.

Honors

In 1939 the title Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, he was awarded. In addition, he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
