Račice-Pístovice

Račice - Pístovice is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers west of Vyškov and belongs to Okres Vyškov.

Geography

Račice - Pístovice located in the southeast of the country Drahany in the valley of the stream Rakovec. To the north rise the Krátký Kopec ( 478 m) and the Podhora (453 m), in the southeast of Nad skalou ( 438 m) and the Liliová hora (Lily Mountain, 393 m ) south of the Ostatečná hora (410 m). To the west stretches the Natural Park Ricky, in the northwest of the Nature 's Valley Park Rakovecké. To the north- west lies the medieval deserted village Sokolí.

Neighboring towns are Ježkovice in the north, Opatovice in the northeast, Drnovice in the east, and Luleč Nemojany the southeast, Olšany in the south, and Hostěnice Lhotky the southwest, Proseč and Brezina in the West and Ricky, Bukovinka and Pastviny in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village Ratzici took place in 1227 in the will Kojatas IV of Hrabischitz in which this castle Drnovice his nieces and Euphemia Svatochňa bequeathed. About Svatochňa got the possession of her husband Idik of Schwabenitz. Between 1275 and 1285 the castle was Račice. Subsequently, the seat of the reign of Drnovice was moved to Račice. The castle became the seat of the General Command and the Operations Department. In Pístovice there was the Organization Department of the rod. In 1960 both communities were merged under the name Račice - Pístovice.
