Rai 5

Rai 5 is one of the programs belonging to the RAI group. Rai 5 was launched on 26 November 2010. It is based on the themes of culture, art, dance, opera, theater, cuisine, fashion, travel and documentary films. 5 Rai took the place of Rai Extra.

The slogan of Rai 5 reads: " La tutti i sensi tv in ", which translated means: The TV in all senses.

History

As a further program was created in the first months of 2009 with the emergence of Rai 4, Rai already thought of an additional fifth station. After 27 April 2010 the Directorate of Rai 5 was already firmly, put the political party Lega Nord to the Direction of Rai 5, the question of whether they would stabilize the central production in Milan at the center. Also wanted the Lega Nord, Rai 5 that the channel of the Expo 2015. The latter agreed Paolo Garimberti, the President of Rai, too. However, he also said that Rai 5, a program would not only be for the north. For a moment you thought Rai 5 would go on air in April 2010, but then the start of transmission was moved to a fixed day and that on November 26, 2010.

When then November 26, 2010 approached, a spot was shown on all Rai channels, which should show the new world of Rai 5. The first program went on the air, was Africa Benedetta with Benedetta Mazzini. On December 7, 2010 has Rai 5 live Richard Wagner's " La Valchiria " ( The Valkyrie ). On 23 August 2011, the channel was in the prime time, the show of David Letterman, who was previously seen on Sky Uno and Rai Sat.
