Raidió Teilifís Éireann

Raidió Teilifís Éireann (pronounced ' rad ʲ o' t ʲ ɛl ʲ əf ʲ i: ʃ ' e: r ʲ ən ), short RTÉ, the public broadcasting company in the Republic of Ireland. It was founded on 1 June 1960. RTÉ is headquartered in Dublin.

History

Although the broadcasting company was founded later, was started in Ireland on 1 January 1926, the broadcast of a radio program. On New Year's Eve 1961, the TV mode has been added. Over the years, several radio and television programs and a website were added news.

In the fall of 2010, the actual planning phase began for a total of € 350 million priced, Project 2025 called comprehensive modernization projects, the building permit is issued for the end of November 2010.

With effect from June 1, 2010 Glen Killane replaced the previous TV Chef ( managing director of television ) and later RTÉ Director General Noel Curran from as managing director of television. As the new Director General of the transmitter was in November 2010 with effect from February 2011 Noel Curran, former managing director of television, named.
