Rajshahi (Division)

Division Rajshahi ( Bengali: রাজশাহী বিভাগ, Rājśāhī bibhāg ) is one of seven administrative units of Bangladesh, named the districts of superior and after their respective largest city. The area covers 18,194 km ². It is located in the northwest of the country. The Population Division is about 16 million inhabitants. The administrative capital is Rajshahi.

The Rajshahi Division is bordered to the north by the national administrative unit Rangpur, on the east by Dhaka, also in the south of Dhaka and Khulna and to the west by the Indian state of West Bengal.

The management unit is made up of eight districts: Bogra, Jaipurhat, Lalmonirhat, Naogaon, Natore, Nawabganj, Pabna, Rajshahi and Sirajganj.

Until 25 January 2010 included the districts of Dinajpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Rangpur and Thakurgaon to Rajshahi Division. This then formed the newly created Division Rangpur.
