Ramón Calderón

Ramón Calderón Ramos ( born May 26, 1951 in Palencia ) is a Spanish lawyer.

He was elected in 2006 with 8,344 votes to the president of Real Madrid, while Juan Palacios second with 8,098 votes was. His first acts were the obligation of the Italian coach Fabio Capello and two players from Juventus Fabio Cannavaro and Emerson. He also piloted Ruud van Nistelrooy of Manchester United and Mahamadou Diarra of Olympique Lyon, as well as the two Argentines Fernando Gago and Gonzalo Higuain to Madrid.

His great aim was that the club in the long term only by members heard and therefore can not be sold.

Calderón resigned as president on 16 January 2009. The sports newspaper " Marca " had revealed that had participated in several incorrect delegates to vote for adoption of the budget that were not entitled to vote.

Calderon acknowledged the manipulation, but said to have had nothing to do. His term was already overshadowed by several scandals. The club chief had to be accused of financial irregularities and nepotism. Under Calderón Real was twice Spanish masters. The successful coach Fabio Capello and Bernd Schuster, however, were dismissed despite their title wins later.
