Rascal Flatts
The Rascal Flatts are an American country band.
Founded they were of the Cousins Jay DeMarcus (* April 27, 1971 in Columbus, Ohio) and Gary LeVox (born 10 July 1970, Columbus, Ohio). Later met guitarist Joe Don Rooney ( * September 13, 1975 in Baxter Springs, Kansas) to do so.
Band History
Jay and Gary made already in the family circle music, but while DeMarcus in 1992 the Christian -music- band East And West joined, LeVox was a civilian job after. In 1997, he was persuaded also to go into the music business. When they played in the backing band of Chely Wright, Joe Don Rooney, they learned to know. As during an appearance by Jay and Gary turned out her accompanying guitarist, Joe Don jumped in, and the Rascal Flatts had found each other.
Achievements
They came under the label Lyric Street Records Disney Music Group and released her debut album in 2000. The album Rascal Flatts and the first single Prayin ' for Daylight arrived went straight to number three on the country charts. Their musical blend of country, pop and rhythm and blues made them interesting for a wider audience and so they could also end up in the pop charts notable successes.
The follow-up album Melt was her first number-one country album. The excitement to brief nude scenes in the video for the single I Melt that fell after publication of an adjusted version that did not detract from its success.
By the third album Feels Like Today they were # 1 on the Top 200, the official U.S. album charts conquer. Almost every one of their singles reached the Top 10 on the country charts, including ten Number Ones 1, eight made it into the Top 40 on the pop charts.
In 2006, the band contributed the song Life Is a Highway, originally by Tom Cochrane, to the soundtrack of the Pixar animated film Cars at. In 2009, two of her songs were part of the soundtrack to Hannah Montana - The Movie.
Awards
Six years in a row received the Rascal Flatts of the Country Music Association CMA Awards for Vocal Group of the Year. For Bless the Broken Road, they were awarded the Grammy in 2006 for Best Country Song. In January 2008, they won the " People's Choice Award".
Their first two albums were each awarded double platinum Feels Like Today received five times platinum, and her 2006 released album Me and My Gang debuted at # 1 on the charts and was already again in two weeks over a million customers. With the first single from this album, What Hurts the Most, which already in the version of Jo O'Meara ( ex- S Club 7) reached the British charts, they advanced into the top 10 of the U.S. pop charts for the first time.
Trivia
In the episode 14 of 10.Staffel of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation the bassist of the band during a stage presentation is injured by an electric shock. The song that they play in this episode, is " Unstoppable ".
