Raymond Roussin

Raymond Roussin SM ( born June 17, 1939 in Saint -Vital ) is Archbishop Emeritus of Vancouver.

Life

Raymond Roussin joined the Congregation of the Marianists at, presented on 22 August 1961, the profession from and received on 21 March 1970, the ordination.

Pope John Paul II appointed him on 10 April 1995 as Bishop of Gravelbourg. The retired Bishop of Gravelbourg, Noël Delaquis, donated him on 14 June of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Antoine Hacault, Archbishop of Saint- Boniface, and Paul Vollmar, Auxiliary Bishop of Chur.

On September 14, 1998, he was appointed Coadjutor Bishop of Victoria. After the retirement Remi Joseph De Roos follow him on 18 March 1999 as Bishop of Victoria after and was introduced to the post on 28 June of the same year. On 10 February 2004 he was appointed Archbishop of Vancouver and introduced into the office on 17 February of the same year. From his office he resigned on January 2, 2009.
