Reinhold Bachler

Reinhold Bachler ( born December 26, 1944 in iron ore, Styria ) is a former Austrian ski jumper and ski coach. Prior to his sports career Bachler worked as a miner at Erzberg.

The Early Years

His first successes came in 1967 with six victories in FIS - jumping. The climax he presented on 12 March 1967, 154 meters to set a new world record in ski jumping at the hill in Vikersund. In 1968 Bachler the silver medal on the normal hill at the Olympic Games in Grenoble. After Grenoble Reinhold Bachler was for many years one of the few Austrian ski jumper who could keep up with the world leaders. From 1982 to 2000 Reinhold Bachler was a coach in the Nordic training center iron ore. Since 2000 he is retired.
