The Kulm in the Styrian Tauplitz on the mountain Kulmkogel (1123 m) is the world's largest natural ski jump.

History

After the end of World War I, some enthusiasts developed the idea to build a ski jumping hill at Kulm. Hubert Neuper senior, the father of former ski jumping World Cup winner Hubert Neuper junior was the first jumper who went over the hill. He arrived here a width of 96 meters. The first ski jumping competition was held in 1950 in front of more than 10,000 enthusiastic spectators and saw the Austrian Rudi Dietrich with a length of 103.0 meters as the winner. On the ski jump easily converted the Austrian ski jumping legend Sepp " Bubi " Bradl had already reached a length of 115.0 meters.

Once in 1975, 1986 and 1996 from a world championship was conducted on the Kulm ski jump, the Kulm was most recently in 2006 the scene of the World Cup. At the Ski Flying World Championships 2006, a new start house was built with waiting room and snack bar directly above the lead-in track for the jumpers. In the middle station of the chair lift a small ski - museum was established in the judges tower. The hill record keeping since 10 January 2009, the Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer of 215.5 yards flew in the second competition round. Summer at the Kulm
