Peter Prevc

Peter Prevc [ preu̯t͡s ] ( born September 20, 1992 Kranj, Slovenia) is a Slovenian ski jumper.

Career

Prevc jumping for the SK Triglav Kranj, was launched in 2006 more than 13 -year-old for the first time in the FIS Cup. In the 2008 / 09 season, the Slovenes get the first points in the Ski Jumping Continental Cup. On his home hill in Kranj and on the large hill from Pragelato he stood even as each second on the podium. Between these two successes Prevc was at the Junior World Championships in Štrbské Pleso at the start, where he took sixth place in the individual competition.

In the Slovenian ski jumping championships in 2009 in Kranj he won jointly with Robert Kranjec, Primoz Peterka and Jaka Oblak the team competition and was in the individual competition at the end of fifth. Also in the European Youth Olympic Festival in 2009, he was extremely successful and was able to secure in Poland, both the gold medal in singles as well as with the team.

In December 2009, Peter Prevc came Jernej Damjan instead of in the Slovenian World Cup team. In Lillehammer it on first attempt to qualify for the main draw, where he - albeit favored by snow - with rank 22 reached his first World Cup points. At the Junior World Championship 2010 in Hinterzarten he secured in the individual competition on the normal hill silver medal and the bronze medal with the team. In the Slovenian ski jumping championships 2010 in Kranj he won in 2009 as already gold in team jumping.

At the Olympic Winter Games 2010 in Vancouver seventeen Prevc reached the 7th place in jumping on the normal hill. On the large hill he was 16, with the team he reached # 8

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011 in Oslo, he started for Slovenia in all four jump competitions. From the normal hill he reached the 17th place in the individual and with the team in sixth place. From the large hill he finished 25th in the individual competition. In the team competition, he won the bronze medal together with Jurij Tepeš, Jernej Damjan and Robert Kranjec. In the Slovenian Championships in 2011, he defended with the team of SK Triglav Kranj the title in the team competition, while he finished in second place in the individual competition. Then a year later he was able to erspringen his first individual title. The most successful year of his career was crowned in Slovenia by the choice of the Slovenian ski jumping team (together with Robert Kranjec, Yuri and Jernej Damjan Tepeš ) Team of the Year.

On 19 February 2012, he won with the Slovenian team the team competition at the Heini Klopfer ski jump and overtook not only the first victory of his career. The Slovenian team won a team competition in the World Cup for the first time ever. He himself retired with a jump of 225.5 meters, which he could not stand, torn ligaments in the shoulder.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 2013 in Val di Fiemme, he reached behind Anders Bardal and Gregor Schlierenzauer while jumping on the normal hill in third place and won so bronze. When jumping on the large hill at the 28 February 2013 he was second behind Kamil Stoch won and thus before Anders Jacobsen silver.

His first World Cup victory in the individual competition he premiered on January 12, 2014 in ski flying in Tauplitz at Kulm.

On February 9, he won at the Olympic Winter Games 2014 in Sochi silver on the normal hill behind Kamil Stoch. When competition on the large hill he brought also the bronze medal.
