Renault España

The Renault España SA, abbreviated internally by the acronym RESA, is an automobile manufacturer with corporate headquarters in Madrid, Spain. The company is a subsidiary of the French Renault SA and is the official representative of the French company in the Spanish territories. Some 2,700 employees work for the company. The management currently is under the company president Jean Pierre Laurent.

Since the first decade of the 20th century, the company is as a local trade organization for the distribution of vehicles. Only under a joint venture with state participation was finally started in 1953 at the site Valladolid with a local automobile production. It established itself after a number of different subsidiaries. In Barcelona even a design and development center in the Renault group could now occupy an important position arose. The most renowned products of this center are the Renault models 7, 15, 17/ 177, 19, Fuego, as well as the combination and coupe versions of Mégane.
