Reschbach

The Reschbach (on some sections called Reschwasser ) is a brook in Lower Bavaria Freyung -Grafenau.

Course

The creek has its origin on the border with the Czech Republic in the trough between Cerna hora ( Black Mountain 1314 m) and Straz ( Post Mount 1308 m) about four kilometers north of Finsterau. In the same bowl rises, the Warm Vltava, a swelling flow of Moldova. In contrast to the Vltava River, which flows north and empties across the Elbe into the North Sea, the Reschbach situated in the basin of the Danube and thus drained into the Black Sea. At the upper reaches of the Reschbach is jammed after a short distance in the Reschbachklause. This reservoir was formerly the timber rafting. The hermitage was built in 1860, with about 0.8 hectares the largest of its kind in the Bavarian Forest. Approximately 300 m below the dam is a branching channel that leads along the slope of the Seven stone head in the next valley to end up there in the Teufelsbach. The so-called Schwellgraben served to divert water from the Reschbach in the vicious stream, there to have more water available to pastures wood. In the further course lie the remains of the old hermitage. Built in 1846 hermitage was built in 1860 replaced by the Reschbachklause. In a broad valley west of belonging to the community Mauth Finsterau places, Heinrich Brunn, High tubes and twelve houses flows the creek to the south. He is here on a few kilometers around the eastern border of the Bavarian Forest National Park. Below Mauth the valley narrows and the short Reschbach passed the Mauther districts and Neuhütte. After the Bach Raimundsreut, Schönbrunn has happened on Lusen and Bierhütte (all part of the community Hohenau ), it reaches a deep valley ( the Buchberger Leite ). There he meets a kilometers southwest of Ahornöd on the Saußbach and forms along the Wolfsteiner Ohe.

Shortly before the union with the Saußbach to Wolfsteiner Ohe of most of the water is diverted from the stream and operation of the power plants of the Carbidwerks Freyung used ( construction of facilities, see there).
