Style, influence and reception

Music critics to show that the style of guitarist Davidson is an important aspect for the sound of Revocation. The Exclaim! Magazine described the skilful guitar playing by Davidson follows: " Typically, most bands with mechanical flair and overdone solos just three seconds interesting That is as long as you need to understand that any guitarist dominates the band, the. his youth spent with masturbation, rather than something to do with others, and now he uses his talent to other guitarists (whose guitars have six strings ) to impress. " Davidson developed his technique by going to the Berklee College of Music, where he specialized in polyrhythm for jazz. This brought him expertise in playing and songwriting, while " were some atonal aspects of jazz him a different perspective on composing and guitar solos. "

Davidson called Slash, Dimebag Darrell, and Marty Friedman as its main influences. According to Davidson, the band have a wide range of influences, consisting of bands like Exhorder, Dark Angel, Megadeth, Pestilence, Atheist, Gorguts, Forbidden, Spastic Ink, Martyr, and Exodus.

With regard to the rhythm of the band critics are divided; whereas, according to About.com Buda and Dubois - Coyne " their own brutal brand of within seconds of coming to a halt precision play, combined with a relentless intensity ", which Decibel Magazine commented to Davidson's solos that "the rest of the band fails to to compensate for this. " In contrast to these opinions, Allmusic says: " Perhaps the most amazing thing Revocation is probably that they are a trio. "
