Richland Township is one of twelve townships of Allen County in the U.S. state of Ohio. According to the census in 2000 6090 inhabitants were registered here.

Geography

Richland Township is located in the extreme north-east of the Allen County in northwest Ohio and bordered clockwise to the townships: Riley Township, Putnam County, Union Township and Orange Township, Hancock County, Jackson Township, Bath Township and Monroe Township and at the Pleasant Township, Putnam County.

Management

The township is administered by a Board of Trustees consisting of three elected members. Two persons are elected in the year after the presidential election and one each in the previous year. The term of office lasts four years, beginning on 1 January. There is also a Township Clerk (Secretary), who is also elected in the year before the presidential election to a four -year term. Whose term of office begins on April 1.
