Rickard Rakell

Rickard Rakell ( born May 5, 1993, Stockholm ) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player who is since 2012 at the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Rickard Rakell began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Spånga IS, in which he was active until 2008. Subsequently, the Center moved to AIK Solna, for its U16, U18 and U20 Juniors he played in the next two years. For the season 2010/11 the Plymouth Whalers joined from the Canadian top junior league Ontario Hockey League. In his first season in North America, he scored in a total of 50 games 19 goals and 24 templates, after which he was selected in the first round of the NHL Entry Draft in 2011 when a total of 30 players from the Anaheim Ducks. In the following season he was able to increase his points total to 62 points in 60 games and also won in the playoffs with 12 points in 13 games for Plymouth in the Ontario Hockey League.

Beginning of July 2012 signed Rakell an entry contract with the Anaheim Ducks over three years. After the Swede won in training camp of the Ducks, he made his debut after the end of the NHL lockout in the following season - January 19, 2013 away game against the Vancouver Canucks - for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. He played four games for Anaheim, but remained no points. After he was sent back to the Whalers, he finished the regular season with 44 points in 40 games and was able to convince in the playoffs with 15 points in as many games.

For Sweden Rakell took part in the U20 World Junior Championships in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
