Geography
Strap is in the Oberland region of the same name Riegsee.
There are the following parts of communes: Aidling, Riegsee, Hagen, Leibersberg, Lothdorf, Höhlmühle, Perlachturm, Guglhör
History
The district Aidling was first mentioned in the year 710 and was until 1716 the seat of a Hofmark. Strap was first mentioned in 1150 and belonged to Rentamt Munich and the Court of Weilheim of the Electorate of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in the Kingdom of Bavaria created with the congregation of 1818 the municipalities Riegsee and Aidling. On July 1, 1972 this community areas were the district of Garmisch -Partenkirchen slammed (previously Weilheim in Oberbayern).
Incorporations
On 1 January 1978, until then independent municipality Aidling was incorporated in the course of municipal reform.
