Rishirifuji (Japanese利 尻 富士 町, -chō ) is a town in the district of Rishiri in the sub-prefecture of Hokkaido Soya on an island in the Sea of ​​Japan.

Etymology

The name comes from the volcano Rishirifuji Rishiri, which is also compared with the Fuji and so called Rishiri Fuji. Rishiri comes from Ainu riishiri, which means "Island of the high mountain ."

Geography

Rishirifuji is located geographically in the eastern part of the island of the Sea of ​​Japan and politically in the district of Rishiri extends exclusively over the whole island.
