Roba Gari

Roba Gari (also Roba Gary, born April 12, 1982 in Shewa ) is an Ethiopian long- distance runner who specializes in the steeplechase.

At the World Athletics Championships 2007 in Osaka, he was in the steeplechase tenth. However, he dropped out in the preliminary round at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. At the World Athletics Championships in Berlin in 2009, he finished sixth.

The following month, Gari presented at the IAAF World Athletics Final in Thessaloniki with a time of 8:11,32 min an Ethiopian national record in the steeplechase on. This he improved in May 2010 at the Qatar Athletic Super Grand Prix in Doha on 8:10,29 min. In the Africa Championships in Nairobi, he won the bronze medal. In September, he increased as second in the IAAF Continental Cup in Split his national record to 8:09,87 min.

At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu Gari was fifth. The Pan-African Games in the same year he won the silver medal. In 2012, he finished fourth at the Olympic Games in London.
