Rochetaillée-sur-Saône
Rochetaillée -sur -Saône is a commune with 1535 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Rhône department in the Rhône -Alpes.
Location
Rochetaillée -sur -Saône is located 5 km north of Lyon on the left bank of the Saône.
History
Etienne II de Villar took over in 1150 the rule Rochetaillée and built a first castle. During an attack the Huguenots in 1562, the castle was burned down, destroyed the village. In the first half of the 17th century, the villagers had to cope with all sorts of plagues: Between 1628 and 1629 the plague raged in the region and in 1636 a flood destroyed the place.
Attractions
High above the city and the river, the Château de Rochetaillée -sur -Saône on a hill. The castle was built in the 12th century, went to the French Revolution in 1790 in State ownership and fell progressively. 1892 leads Pierre Claude Bellingard by a first restoration. With the takeover of the castle in 1902 restored Jean Joseph Clerc, the castle and built it from the castle. 1959 acquired Henry Malartre the palace and established in the Automobile Museum Musée Henri Malartre one.
