Rock (Cornwall)

Skirt ( cornish Karrek ) is a coastal village at the mouth of the River Camel on the opposite side of Padstow. The place belongs to the Civil parish of St Minver in Cornwall.

Etymology

The original name of the town in the 14th century was Blake gates, which was in the 18th century to BlackRock and later shortened to the present name.

Geography

To skirt also belong the two districts Trebetherick and Polzeath to the north. In Trebetherick the Brea Hill is located. Rock is located with its suburbs on Daymer Bay.
