Rom, Deux-Sèvres

Rome is a commune in the canton of Lezay in Deux-Sevres in the Poitou -Charentes with 880 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011).

Geography

The village is located approximately 45 km east of Niort and 40 km south of Poitiers in the Pays Mellois. The Dive crosses the area. Neighboring communities are Saint- Sauvant in the north, Payré in the northeast, Châtillon and Couhé in the east, in the southeast Brux, Messé in the south, Sainte -Soline in the southwest and Vançais in the West.

The LGV Sud Europe Atlantique, which goes into operation in 2017, will pass through the municipal area east of the city center.
