Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hankou

The Archdiocese of Hankow (Latin Archidioecesis Hancheuvensis ) is located in China Metropolitan Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church.

The mission area of the Franciscans was built on September 11, 1870 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Hubei -eastern areas of the resolved Apostolic Vicariate of Hubei and changed its name on December 12, 1923 at Apostolic Vicariate of Hankow. Pope Pius XII. raised it on April 11, 1946 Archdiocese.

The 12,120 km ² large diocese counted 35,239 Catholics in 1950 (1.6% ) in 25 parishes with 11 diocesan priests, 49 religious priests and 128 nuns.
