Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Karachi

The Archdiocese of Karachi (Latin: Archidioecesis Karachiensis ) is a location in Pakistan Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Karachi.

History

The Diocese of Karachi was by Pope Pius XII. Founded in 1948 and placed under the Metropolitan Diocese Bombay. First bishop was James Cornelius van Miltenburg OFM. Just two years later the collection was made at a archbishopric. 1958 was built from the Archdiocese of Karachi out the Suffragan Diocese of Hyderabad in Pakistan. 2001 originated from two dioceses, the Apostolic Prefecture of Quetta.
