Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Tabora

The Archdiocese of Tabora (Latin: Archidioecesis Taboraensis ) is a location in Tanzania Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Tabora.

History

The Archdiocese of Tabora was on January 11, 1887 by Pope Leo XIII. cessions of territory from the Apostolic Vicariate of Tanganyika established as Apostolic Vicariate Unianyembé. The Apostolic Vicariate of Unianyembé changed on May 31, 1925 its name in apostolic vicariate Tabora. On April 8, 1929, the Apostolic Vicariate of Tabora were parts of its territory from establishing the Apostolic Vicariate of Bukoba.

On March 25, 1953, the Apostolic Vicariate of Tabora was by Pope Pius XII. raised to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Tabora was on March 25, 1972 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Singida. A further transfer of territory on 11 November 1983 foundation of the diocese Kahama.
