Roman Catholic Diocese of Embu

The Diocese of Embu (Latin: Dioecesis Embuensis ) is located in Kenya Diocese of the Roman Catholic Church. Seat of the diocese is Embu. It includes the districts of Embu and Mbeere in Eastern Province.

History

Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam Nostrum on 9 June 1986 cession of territory of the Diocese of Meru and it became the Archdiocese of Nairobi assumed as suffragan.

On 21 May 1990, it was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Nyeri.
