Roman Catholic Diocese of Guarapuava

The diocese Guarapuava (Latin: Dioecesis Guarapuavensis ) is a location in Brazil the Roman Catholic Diocese based in Guarapuava Paraná state.

History

Pope Paul VI. founded it on 16 December 1965 with the Apostolic Constitution Christ vices of annexations of the dioceses Campo Mourão, Ponta Grossa and Toledo and was the Archdiocese of Curitiba assumed as suffragan.

On 3 December 1976, it lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the Diocese of União da Vitória.

The diocese includes the municipalities Guarapuava Guarapuava, Altamira do Paraná, Boa Ventura de São Roque, Campina do Simão, Cândido de Abreu, Candói, favela, Espigão Alto do Iguaçu, Foz do Jordão, Goioxim, Inácio Martins, Laranjal, Laranjeiras do Sul, Manoel Ribas, Marquinho, Mato Rico, Nova Laranjeiras, Nova Tebas, Palmital pinhão, Pitanga, Porto Barreiro, Prudentópolis, Quedas do Iguaçu, Reserva do Iguaçu, Rio Bonito do Iguaçu, Rio Branco do Ivaí, Rosário do Ivaí, Santa Maria d ' Oeste, Turvo and Virmond the state of Paraná.
