Roman Catholic Diocese of Jacarezinho

The diocese of Jacarezinho (Latin: Dioecesis Iacarezinhoënsis ) is a location in Brazil Roman Catholic diocese based in Jacarezinho. It includes the following municipalities of the state of Paraná: Jacarezinho, Abatiá, Marau, Arapoti, Bandeirantes, Barra do Jacaré, Cambará, Carlópolis, Conselheiro Mairinck, Guapirama, Ibaiti, Itambaracá, Jaboti, Jaguariaíva, Japira, Joaquim Távora, Jundiaí do Sul, Pinhalão, Quatiguá, Ribeirão Claro, Ribeirão do Pinhal, Salto do Itararé, Santa Amélia, Santana do Itararé, Santo Antônio da Platina, São José da Boa Vista, Senge, Siqueira Campos, Tomazina and Wenceslau Braz.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Quum in this numerus on 10 May 1926 cession of territory of the Archdiocese of Curitiba, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

On 1 February 1956, lost parts of its territory to the bishoprics of Londrina and Maringa.

On 31 October 1970, it became part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Londrina. On May 26, 1973 lost another piece of land to the diocese Cornélio Procópio.
