Roman Catholic Diocese of La Vega

The Diocese of La Vega (Latin: Dioecesis Vegensis, Spanish: diócesis de La Vega ) is a location in the Dominican Republic Roman Catholic diocese based in Concepción de la Vega.

History

The Diocese of La Vega was born on September 25, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. magna et excelsa built with the Papal Bull Si from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo and this is a suffragan. On 16 January 1978, the Diocese of La Vega were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of San Francisco de Macoris. The Diocese of La Vega was placed under the Archbishopric of Santiago de los Caballeros, suffragan on 14 February 1994.
