The Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana (Latin: Sancti Ioannis Dioecesis Maguanensis, Spanish: diócesis de San Juan de la Maguana ) is a location in the Dominican Republic Roman Catholic diocese based in San Juan de la Maguana.

History

The Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana was born on September 25, 1953 by Pope Pius XII. built with the Papal Bull Si magna et excelsa out of territory of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo as Territorialprälatur San Juan de la Maguana. The Territorialprälatur San Juan de la Maguana was the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo assumed as suffragan.

On November 19, 1969, the Territorialprälatur San Juan de la Maguana by Pope Paul VI was. with the Papal Bull Summopere laetantes raised to the bishopric. The Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana announced on April 24, 1976 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Barahona.
