Ron Leibman

Ron Leibman ( born October 11, 1937 in New York City, New York ) is an American actor.

Life

Leibman attended Ohio Wesleyan University, from which he graduated in 1958. In 1963 he had a first engagement on Broadway. In the same year he also had first television roles. During the 1960s he worked primarily on Broadway until it 1970 in Carl Reiner's comedy film, Where's Daddy? had a first major film role. He played two years alongside Robert Redford and George Segal in Peter Yates ' The Hot Rock.

Developed by Leibman series Kaz & Co was deposed in 1979 after only one season with 23 episodes, but he received for his portrayal of the Emmy Award. With this series, he was also known in the West German television audience. In 1984 he was nominated for his role in the film The whiz next to Dolly Parton and Sylvester Stallone for the Golden Raspberry, two years later, he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Merry Christmas, Mrs. Kingsley. In 1993 he won for his performance in the Pulitzer Prize - price production Angels in America Tony Award. Between 1995 and 1996 he played a starring role in the series Central Park West. He had recurring guest roles on the sitcom Friends, as well as in The Sopranos.

Leibman has lived since 1983 in second marriage with actress Jessica Walter. Between 1969 and 1981 he was married to Linda Lavin. He holds a chair at the The New School in New York.
