Ronneby was a city in Benton County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. With 16 inhabitants, it was at the 2000 census, the smallest citys in the United States. Therefore, the city was dissolved on May 2009 and as a part of the Unincorporated Community Maywood Township.

Geography

Ronneby is located in the middle of Minnesota in the Midwestern United States. The place belongs to the metropolitan region around the city of St. Cloud. Along the village flows the West Branch Saint Francis River, a tributary of the Saint Francis River. According to the United States Census Bureau, the area was the city of 0.6 square kilometers and has no significant bodies of water.

The Minnesota State Route 23 runs through the city.

History

Ronneby was built on a railway line between St. Cloud and Duluth. The place was originally called St. Francis, but was changed with the opening of the post office in 1897, as prepared another place in Minnesota to bear this name. The current name comes from the Swedish town of Ronneby. The place was christened on August 31, 1899 the status of Village. 1974 Ronneby was a statutory city. In November 2008, the residents Ronneby decided by 19 votes to 8, dissolve the city.
